What Are Friends For???

Okay, so I tend to do vacations that I decide I need at the last second, but they always seem to work out, and at great prices I might add. I have worked 5o some odd days straight, and I was very tired and wanted a break. I went ahead and had a weekend that I have decided to call my Mother's Day present. I might as well spoil myself right?

I have realized that I am so blessed with friends. I am surrounded by greatness, but this is going to be a little bit of a shout out to two of my very best friends...they made my weekend awesome and I love them tons. Let's start with Ashley...She called me up on Thursday stating that she had an extra Jazz ticket for Friday night and wanted me to come along. Heck yes!!! Of course I was going with a bunch of couples and I told her it wasn't a big deal I would just make a date with the person next to me. I didn't realize how true that would be. Kidding...some dude just really enjoyed getting in my personal space. We had a blast!!! Here are some cool pics...

I felt like a lost puppy, and I know I look like one too.
This was the dude in front of us...
As you can tell from the pictures we were pretty high up there, but don't worry, there were 3 whole rows behind us! It was just so fun to be a part of the excitement.

Then on Saturday...yes I played hookie and didn't go to work at the hospital...I so needed the break. Too bad I will be making up those hours in the summer, sorry back to Saturday. I tried to sleep in, but nope woke up at 7:45. Watched a little TV, got in the bath, and then went to go get a pedicure with Ashley and her friend Katie (from the Jazz game pics). I guess she can be my friend now too. Nothing more relaxing then a pedicure. After that I went to lunch with my daddy, and he took me to the airport because I bought a last minute flight to LAX. Yes I did!!! It was way inexpensive...it was a last minute deal so it was like $130 and I had a voucher so it only cost me $75, plus the rental car was only $13/day. Yeah, I was pretty proud of myself.

What did I do in California...well, that brings me to my next amazing friend Zach. He took me to go see a movie that I really wanted to go to. "Made of Honor" what a good guy he is taking me to a chick flick! I do have to tell you ladies, I loved the movie, but if you have a guy as your best friend, watching the movie with him was a little akward. Not going to lie about that.

On Sunday I got up and went to church with him, and I haven't been able to go in months due to working on Sundays. It was a fabulous meeting. We went back to his place and watched the Jazz lose to the Lakers, at least it wasn't too bad...we played a little Guitar Hero. I actually haven't really ever played the game before. I am still a bigger lover of Rock Band, Zach didn't appreciate me singing to his songs he was playing. I am kind of annoying like that. Here he is showing me up....don't worry, I rocked out later and did some pretty good jamming if I do say so myself!
I got to go to the beach too. Seriously, I am telling you my friends are amazing to do this for me! I think they wanted to reduce some of my daily stresses as much as I did.

I promised Chalese I would stick my toe in the water for her...here you go...
Which toes do you think are mine?

This is just a video of me being stupid. Zach wasn't really being an ornery pants...he just didn't want me getting him wet. It was a little cold and windy, but so pretty!!!

Zach said I kept complaining about the humidity, but seriously, it made my hair just frizz...I looked retarded!!! I will blame my saggy boobs on the humidity too...Ha, kidding!

It was a fabulous weekend, best I have had in ages!!! I am back to living the daily life of Mandy, but I am so grateful to Ashley and Zach. I love you guys to death, and I don't know where I would be without you!!!

And to the girls that were missing me, and vice versa...this one is for you. Next time I will make the last minute trip to Seattle if you can promise me it won't rain!

Miss you Guys!!!

Oh, and one more thing...Happy Cinco De Mayo!!! I made fajitas for dinner, and yes those are veggies in there, don't worry I made some without. It was yummy!

It looks like you had a pretty darn good trip. And thank you for the note you left. Very much appreciated. I found it before I even fell back asleep.

Good luck catching up on work!
